Crew Leader is expected to be efficient, neat, and responsible for safe performance of all jobs assigned to the crew. Responsible for the care and minor maintenance of all tools and equipment, including vehicles assigned to the crew. Will work daily with crew at the job site to assure that all work is thorough and completed according to regulations of The West Virginia Development Office Weatherization program and the U.S. Department of Energy. This position supports the delivery and administration of energy efficiency services under multiple funding sources, including the Department of Energy (DOE) Weatherization Assistance Program, the Weatherization Infrastructure Grant (BIL), and state-supported programs such as LIHEAP. This position performs duties as assigned across programs, including field work, data collection, compliance support, and infrastructure-related activities. Funding for this position is provided through a combination of time-limited and ongoing grants, and work assignments may shift based on program needs. Accurate time tracking by funding sources is required. These roles are anticipated to continue for the duration of active program grant funding, including funding under the BIL WX Infrastructure grant which is set to expire in 2030.
High School Diploma/GED/or documented work-related experience or years of experience.
Must be able to bend and crawl on knees or back at times. Can extend body to reach hard to get areas. Must stand, walk, sit, use hands, drive a vehicle, talk, hear, occasionally lift, and carry up to 50 pounds, climb 2 story ladders, and crawl under areas at least 18 inches high.
Valid Driver’s License
Be able to provide own transportation; carry adequate insurance coverage; safe driving record; Criminal Background Check; Protective Services Record Check.
Basic carpentry skills. Must be able to successfully organize, communicate, and work under pressure. Assist agency in meeting mandated goals established by the agency budget. Adhere to agency policies and procedures. Direct and supervise the work of the weatherization crew. Keep daily records of crew's performance such as daily in/outs, job books, incident reports, and client education.
