Responsible for implementation of service area as outlined in the Program Plans; responsible for implementation of the West Virginia School Transportation Regulations and transporting enrolled children to/from centers and on field trips.
Hourly, Part Year/Part Time
High School Diploma or GED. CDL - Minimum Class B License with Passenger, Air Brake and S Endorsement (as required by WV Division of Public Safety); and WV School Bus Operator Certification (CDL, Endorsements, and Certification may be obtained after hire); candidate shall be at least 21 years of age; at least three (3) years of driving experience as a licensed operator of a motor vehicle.
Accurate record keeping and reporting skill; oral and written communication skills; ability to schedule and follow directions; ability to work without direct supervision; ability to relate to children and adults; ability to read and understand safety regulations.
Work hours as assigned by Children Services Supervisor; safe driving record; initial and annual physical exam as required by the WV State Department of Transportation; annual certification training; State and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Check; Sex Offender Registry Check; Protective Services Record Check; prior to hire TB Risk Assessment or TB screening by Mantoux method and thereafter as applicable; first aid card; CPR card; and food handlers card (for drivers who assist with meals); Subject to pre-employment drug testing for use of certain controlled substances and alcohol, as well as random testing thereafter.
While performing the duties of this job, the employees occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, use hand, drive an automobile, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 15 pounds.
