North Central WV Community Action Association seeks Board of Directors Members and Community Input and Involvement.
Marion, Monongalia & Taylor counties, WV: North Central WV Community Action Association, Inc., a private non-profit serving low-income families in Barbour, Greenbrier, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, Pocahontas, Randolph, Taylor, and Tucker Counties, is seeking qualified volunteers to occupy a position on their Board of Directors. Interested parties must reside in Marion, Monongalia or Taylor County. The closing date to submit your application is August 11, 2017. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers from one of our community sectors:
Low-Income Sector
Members of the Low-Income Sector of the Board of Directors should be prepared to advocate on behalf of low-income families and communities and bring real perspective to the needs of the low-income families in their area. Low-Income Board applicants should be willing to provide verification of household income that is at or below 80% of Area Median Income for their county (please see: go to http://www.wvhdf.com/programs/home-program click on 2016 HOME Income Limits to view local Area Median Incomes for your county, or contact your local Community Action Office for assistance). Upon application, members will be chosen in a democratic fashion by local low-income communities in North Central WV Community Action’s service area. Public Voting for Low-Income Board Members
Public voting for low-income Board Members will be held on August 14, 2017. Voting locations/times – Marion County & Monongalia County voting will take place at Scott Place Homeless Shelter in Fairmont 9am – 3pm, Taylor County voting will take place at the local Community Action Office on East Main Street in Grafton 9am – 3pm. All community members are encouraged to pay a visit to their local North Central WV Community Action Office and cast their vote for low-income sector members of the Board of Directors; To complete an application for volunteer service on the Board of Directors, or to cast your vote for the low-income Board representative please contact your local North Central WV Community Action Office.
