Responsible for implementation of service areas as outlined in the Head Start Program Performance Standards, Parent, Family and Community Engagement and applicable program policies and procedures. Primary responsibilities include knowledge of child health requirements, implementation of individual family partnership agreements, provide support and referrals for families, and maintain a professional respectful attitude with parents, staff, and the community.
A minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential (Example: ACDS), or equivalent coursework as part of an associate\'s or bachelor\'s degree. Degree preferred in Human Development, Social Work, Child Development, Public Health, or related field.
Work hours as assigned by Children Services Supervisor; occasional evening/weekend hours and overnight travel as required; for socialization Family Educators are required to be in center one half hour prior to their arrival and one half hour after their departure; valid driver’s license; safe driving record; vehicle with adequate insurance available for on the job use; State and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Record Check; Sex Offender Registry Check; Protective Services Record Check; initial Health Assessment and required updates; prior to hire TB Risk Assessment or TB screening by Mantoux method; CPR/FA card, and food handler’s card. Experience in Social Work or child development; case management experience; health, home visiting or adult education experience; understanding of and ability to relate to teenage parents as well as infants and toddlers.
While performing the duties of this job, the employees occasionally are required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, use hands, drive an automobile, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 15 pounds.
