The Scott Place Homeless Shelter Housing Team is seeking a highly motivated, empathetic, and assertive individual to serve as Rapid Rehousing Housing Stabilization Worker. The RRH HSW will be responsible to facilitate permanent housing placement and stability for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Marion County. The full-time position will work directly with program participants in the home and office to break down barriers to housing stability including but not limited to increasing income, physical and mental health, substance abuse, community engagement, and building positive environments for success.
Associates or bachelor’s degree from and accredited college or university in human services field preferred and/or documented experience in housing location and housing placement of homeless individuals. Valid Driver’s License, proof of insurance, dependable personal vehicle, and background check with no criminal history. Preference will be given to individuals with experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, housing programs, and case management. Ability to work independently.
While performing the duties of this job the employee occasionally is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, drive an automobile, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. You can walk up and down at least 35 steps 4 or more times daily.
Provide comprehensive case management services to homeless individuals/families. Gather and evaluate participant information regarding employment history, housing situation, physical functioning, financial status, capacity for independent living toward the goal of assisting individuals and families to obtain and maintain self-sufficiency. Seek and maintain strong relationships with local landlords. Evaluate participant concerns, observe behavior, develop service plans, and establish and maintain case files in DBAFacsPro and HMIS. Maintain confidentiality of information, while tracking RRH expenses every month to ensure programmatic and HUD compliance. Manage assigned case load, prepare narrative and statistical reports, and documents and correspondence regarding participant status. The RRH Stabilization Worker is also in charge is keeping an inventory of furniture and other donations for the program and facilitating installation of these items into newly homed client units.
