The position requires comprehensive financial management, organizational planning, and the independent application and reporting of accounting and auditing principles and grant regulations (GAAP & Uniform Guidance); responsible for all aspects of the fiscal requirements to review, analyze, and develop internal controls, policies, and procedures to comply with applicable legal, accounting and Head Start Performance Standards; proficient in and able to prepare accurate annual budgets in conjunction with Director and finance staff to provide comparisons and recommendations for budget modifications; serve as the liaison and grants coordinator with the Delegate; assume the role as backup to the Children Service Executive Assistance, in their absence.
(This position’s salary will be funded through the American Rescue Plan grant funds awarded to
NCWVCAA’s Head Start Program until March 31, 2023)

Bachelor’s Degree preferred from accredited college/university in Accounting or Business Administration or Associates Degree from accredited college/university in Fiscal or Business Administration, or related field with at least 3 years of related experience in nonprofit or grant management.
Typical work hours Monday – Friday 8:00-4:00 unless a 4 day/10 hour schedule is approved; evening/weekend hours and overnight travel as needed; valid driver’s license; safe driving record; adequate insurance coverage if vehicle needed for on job use; State and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Check; Sex Offender Registry Check; Protective Services Record Check; Initial Health Assessment and required updated; prior to hire TB Risk Assessment or TB screening by Mantoux method; food handlers card. Independent judgment to plan, train, evaluate, coordinate, organize, prioritize, problem solve, and manage; oral and written communication skills; self-motivated with ability to work without direct supervision, strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Products such as Excel and Word, and other fiscal accounting software. General skills necessary to perform your job functions: mathematical, spelling, grammar, organizational, communication skills, record keeping, and computer skills.
While performing the duties of this job, the employees occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, drive an automobile, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 lbs.
