Voluntary Layoff 

Due to lack of increases in Head Start Program Funding and increases in expenses to maintain Head Start Programs at NCWVCAA at their current levels, it has become necessary to find means of reducing expenditures.  One of the ways to reduce expenditures is to offer a “voluntary layoff” to all Exempt Staff. This offer is also being extended to Hourly Employees who normally work during the month of July, 2005 and or June and or July, 2006.

If you enlist for the “voluntary layoff”, you will receive a layoff notice for the time period requested.   During the layoff time, the corporation will continue to pay their portion of any benefit that they would have paid if you would be at active employment. You will continue to be considerd full year personnel and will continue to receive the benefits of full year personnel.  You also have the option of seeking unemployment benefits during the ‘layoff’ time period.
