Description:                          Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the in Marion County and Supportive Housing Program in Marion County. Monitor, coordinate and evaluate all activities and support services associated with Next Step Project. Prepare grant applications for review, and manage project budget.  Will work with participants to develop appropriate case plans and goals.  Provide on-going assessment & support in plans & goals.

 

Qualifications:                     Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Service related field from accredited institution. Minimum of two years’ experience in a Social Service field.  Documented experience working with homeless individuals, families &/or homeless service programs is preferred.  Social Work license preferred. Excellent computer knowledge, strong communication skills, ability to be involved in public speaking, strong organizational skills.  Prior training and experience with conflict resolution, counseling, communication. Documented experience with case management & assessment skills. Able to be comfortable performing home visits as well as ability to work with individuals with substance abuse &/or mental illness. Valid Driver’s License.  Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Card, CPR, First Aid training, & any other certifications that may be required for the position. *Some certifications are provided/paid for by employer.  Be able to provide own transportation; complete Criminal Background Check & Protective Services Record Check; TB Risk Assessment or TB screening by Mantoux method.

 

Job Responsibilities             General administration of the Next Step Project. Work closely with the DHHR and community support groups and agencies in serving clients. Monitor Next Step Project expenditures. Prepare financial paperwork for services where necessary. Responsible for the budgets for the Next Step Project. Program development: expand services and/or create new ones Next Step supportive housing program. Obtain agreements, and letters of understanding where necessary from funding institutions and/or when necessary. Obtain information and statistical data that will support documentation necessary for continued funding. Enforce Next Step Project rules, regulations, and all required procedures set forth by funding sources. Attend meetings and other functions on behalf of Next Step Project as necessary. Submit and prepare, in a timely manner, any necessary reports, documents, etc. Responsible for assuring upkeep, maintenance prevention, and general cleanliness of Next Step Project; inside and out. Manage all service fees and participant agreements as necessary. Conduct and hold regular resident meetings. Conduct homeless service program outreach. Complete intakes, assess needs and determine eligibility of potential participants. Provide comprehensive case management services regarding employment needs, housing situation, financial status, capacity for independent living and assist individuals and families to maintain permanent housing and self-sufficiency.  Monitor and record participant progress and observe behavior through the development of service plans using case files, and computer systems; such as DBA Fax Pro and HMIS. Ensure program compliance with HUD and WVHDF. Manage assigned caseload and prepare necessary reports. Other duties as assigned by supervisory staff &/or Community Services Director.

 

Physical Demands:             While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, drive an automobile, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and or move objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Ability to walk up and down steps daily.

 

Wage:                                    $15.06 – $15.82 p. hr.
